It rained all night, but the students were able to sleep well. We walked down to the Servant Center for breakfast by 8 AM. The students all made it up and got to breakfast on time! It is a college cafeteria so there were many things on the menu: Eggs/Bacon/sausage/pancakes/Belgian waffles/wheat or white bread toast/danish/donuts/cereal/grape fruit/bananas/apples.
Mrs. Long led us in another devotion on Luke 6:45, 1 Corinthians 10:13, choices, and how what you put into your mind and body is what comes out.
We made our lunches and headed out to Pastor Hill’s church to serve.
We went to Pastor Hill’s church called The Father’s House. He had two outside jobs for us to do. One job was to go to a woman’s house and organize her basement. Mrs. S took Kloe, Hailey, Olivia, JB, Reagan, Emily, Milan, and Ketley. They really worked hard and got her basement looking great! The second group went with Mr. W and put a screen door on. all learned how to frame a screen door, saw wood, and install the door.

The rest of us cleaned the church from top to bottom. We also prepped and painted the door, door frames, stair, basement poles, stair railings and some walls. Some of the painters were: Zech, Katie, Catie, Shayla, Kallie, Marvin, Courtney, Zac, Tyler F., Matthew, Hayden, and Andrew. We will go back tomorrow and add a second coat.
The students didn’t get to do much outside work because of the rain. Mrs. B took a group outside to pick up trash. Even in the rain, inside/outside windows got washed by Megan F, Andy, Peyton S, Holly, and Kolton. Brandon and Spencer washed walls all afternoon. They were able to wipe off the smudges and marks on the walls. Andrew and Katie mopped floors. JC was Mr. B’s right hand man helping him do all kinds of things. Haeven and Bella swept every floor with a broom and then with a vacuum. Tyler L helped vacuum too.
