May 18th, 2011 ~ More Serving

Mr. Butson gave devotions this morning about 1 Samuel 11:1+ . We learned about King David and the life choices he made for the good and for the bad. He mentioned that he and Mrs. Long keep tight reigns on them at TCE but they will have more freedom in Jr. High. Mr. Butson asked them to think about what kind of opportunities they have passed up for one reason or another. He gave an example of why a student might have a bad day and it might all come down to one thing that happened first thing in the morning.

Yeah, Jon and his dad made it today to be with us. We are headed for Pastor Hill’s. It is not raining today so we might be able to work on some of the projects that are outside. We have been working hard at My Father's House. 

We split up into several groups today. Some stayed and painted, some cleaned and organized the nursery at the church, some went out to pick up trash, some went to Sister Denise's house to help her and some went to another church to help clean. The boys also helped scrap a porch on the house next to the church. A full day of work. We are off to the Block Party.
